Bushfire Recovery Work Complete

12 February 2009

Powercor crews have worked long hours to restore power to the fire ravaged areas across Western and Central Victoria by earlier this week.

Crews are now undertaking additional patrols through fire affected areas and utilising specialised fault finding cameras to identify potential defects that may be latent in the system.

With more high temperatures forecast over the coming week, crews remain on high alert and ready to respond to outages as they occur.

With all outstanding reconnection works now completed, Powercor has also been able to provide support to fellow electricity distribution business, SP AusNet, to assist them with rebuilding power lines in severely affected bushfire zones in the North East of the state.

Powercor is appreciative of the patience and understanding its customers have provided over the past fortnight when bushfires, heatwaves and high electrical loads have all affected Victoria’s power supplies.
